4 out of every 5 individuals suffer from Bite Disease, which can cause major head and jaw pain.
What is Bite Disease?
Also known as Occlusal Disease, bite disease is a destructive process that can result from a bite in which the teeth are not properly aligned. Forces are applied to the teeth every time they meet. When the teeth are properly aligned, teeth and muscles, which work the jaw and the jaw joint, are designed to withstand those forces. If your bite isn't aligned, the forces are causing you pain!
Some patients wake up in pain or with tired facial muscles. Tired facial muscles, which can often trigger headaches, are common. However, patients rarely report these symptoms to their dentist because they don't believe they are related to dentistry.
Severe tooth wear and damage, including multiple chips on teeth, small and large fractures and a history of breaking teeth are all symptoms.
